Abraham came out aggressive in the first round landing huge right hands and devastating knees to the body. He was able to keep the pressure on Jedrzejczyk and forced an 8-count. The second round was much of the same. Abraham continued his forward pressure and almost forced a stoppage by the referee. In the third round both fighters began the slow, but Abraham continued to land big shots. The fight went to decision and all three judges scored the bout 30-26.

Liverkick.com reported, “This was a brutal, one-sided beatdown on the part of the hometown favorite Richard Abraham.”

Richard Abraham lives and trains in Chicago, IL, but through his involvement with Team USA Kickboxing he met and trains with The Cellar’s Head Coach, Chris Cichon. Cichon was in Abraham’s corner again for this fight and it was their fourth fight working together.

WAKO USA is looking to fill spots on Team USA to compete at the 2016 Pan American Games in Cancun, Mexico as well as other professional opportuntites across the world.

The Minneapolis camp will feature a “Technique” portion each day that is open to public and fighters of ALL skill levels. This part of the camp will be lead by expert coaches and fighters: Jason Adrada, Richard Abraham, Chris Cichon, Mark Greubel, and Jonathan Balgame.

Following the “Technique” section, the camp will also hold a special “Invite Only” training session for professional fighters and high-level amateurs.

The cost to attend is $50 and EVERYONE is invited!

– Beginner fighters get the chance to learn new techniques and drills from some of the best coaches and fighters in the USA.
– High level fighters get the chance to learn and share techniques and drills with other fighters and coaches. They also get the opportunity to get excellent training with new people at their same weight.
– Pro fighters get the chance to be added to Team USA, networking opportunities, and high level training with other talented fighters at their same weight.

As the bout began it was clear that Abraham was not intimidated. He was willing to trade with Hollenbeck even as Ky attempted to throw spinning elbows and backfists. Unfortunately the forward-aggressive styles of both fighters caused a few clashes of heads. In the second round a small cut was created over the right eye of Richard. In the third round a cut was opened over the left eye of Hollenbeck. In the fourth round Richard began landing some strong right hands and an overhand-right scraped against Ky’s cut and opened it much worse. The doctor stopped the bout and after much arguing and confusion in the right, the bout went to the scorecards. After a little more than 3 rounds of action the judges gave the fight to Ky Hollenbeck. It was a very unsatisfying result for both fighters and discussion for a rematch was immediately discussed. Either way, Abraham proved himself in this bout and showed that he deserves to be back in center stage for Lion Fight!

The event took place in Houston, Texas at the Bayou Music Center. Richard was the shorter fighter, but his relentless pressure actually controlled the distance. He basically chased Daniel Kim around the ring landing powerful punches and leg kicks. As the scores were announced, the judges gave all three rounds to Richard as he won by unanimous decision.

Richard is jumping back into camp right away as he has just been announced as the main event of Lion Fight 24. He will be taking on the very tough Ky Hollenbeck at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT. This is a very big fight for Richards’s career and you can expect to see him doing 1-2 mini camps at The Cellar Gym as he prepares for this fight.
