Our BJJ team traveled to Illinois to compete in the IBJJF Chicago Open on August 9th. We faced many tough challenges, celebrated some exciting wins, and (most importantly) we had fun as a team!

To recap:

Jared started the day with a triangle finish. His second match ended with his opponent being DQ’d for smothering, and he lost his third match by submission.

Liam won his first match by D’Arce, advanced through his second after his opponent was DQ’d for slamming, and lost his third by RNC.

CJ lost his first match by submission.

Robbie won his first match with a short choke and lost his next, finishing 4th in his division.

Kaci had a tough, aggressive opponent in her first match and wasn’t able to get the win.

Pam went undefeated and brought home gold.

Ben won his first match by points and lost his second by points.

A good weekend of competition for the team with plenty of mat time and lessons learned! We are headed home with 2 golds and 5 silvers. Thanks to everyone who competed, coached, and supported the team this weekend and at the gym. Back to work!
