In the beginning of March our BJJ instructor, Marcelo Nunes, took a one week vacation to visit family in Sao Paulo, Brazil. While there he taught a special seminar at Robert Drysdale’s BJJ Academy in Itu, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The seminar helped to raise money to buy new mats for a small school that offers free BJJ instruction to kids who can’t afford to train. The seminar was a huge success as Marcelo had 51 participants in his gi seminar and 54 in his no-gi seminar.

In addition to the seminar, on behalf of Robert Drysdale, Marcelo awarded Oswaldo Gomez his BJJ Black Belt. Oswaldo is a family friend of Marcelo and is the instructor that runs the BJJ academy that offers free training for the kids.
