The Cellar Fight Team’s Derek Knudson is preparing for his return to action after a year and a half layoff from fighting. Knudson will face a big challenge when he takes on North Branch MN’s Jamie Kottke for the vacant IKF Super Middleweight MN State Kickboxing Title. The fight will take place at the Mermaid Event Center in Mounds View, MN on February 21st and is one of 3 Main Event fights scheduled for the fight card. Also headlining the card will be Hibbing, MN’s T.J. Gibson vs Doug Bowling and North Branch, MN’s Gabe Wallbridge vs Whitney Waddel in Pro Kickboxing bouts.

Although Knudson (3-0/1) hasn’t fought in a while, he has remained very active in his kickboxing training and polishing his boxing skills. Knudson also worked a lot with Chris Cichon in preparation for his IKF World Title fight which took place on Jan 9th. Also looking to fight on the card in Muay Thai fights are the Morin brothers, Dave and Adam. More information to come as additional fights are announced.
