Bully Prevention Month at The Cellar Gym
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. Throughout this month at The Cellar, we focused on fostering kindness and empathy among our members. Themed activities were placed around the gym, and we held special mat chats in our youth classes.
Students participated in group activities and discussions promoting self-confidence, teamwork, inclusion, and kindness. One of the highlights was the “Wrinkled Heart” activity, where participants crumpled a paper heart. Although the heart could be smoothed out, the wrinkles remained, symbolizing the lasting impact of bullying.
To reinforce our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment, members (adult and youth) signed an anti-bullying pledge displayed on our front window, serving as a visible reminder of our collective promise to treat others with respect and care.
A big thank you to all our youth and adult members, families, and staff members who have taken part in Bully Prevention Month at The Cellar Gym!
