September 2026 Policy Updates

As of September 2026, we have updated some of our existing gym policies to better address the needs and safety of our community.

Updated Recording Policy

The Cellar Gym’s photo and video policy disallows students or family members from taking photos or videos during training times unless specifically permitted by the coach and with the direct permission of every individual who is visible in the content. However, we will now allow members to film during competition classes. These classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00AM; Muay Thai/MMA sparring at 10:30AM on Saturday mornings, and BJJ Competition class at 10:30AM on Saturday mornings.

Some rules for this:

  1. Recording can only be used for individual use for reviewing your technique. Videos are not allowed to be posted on social media.
  2. You still must ask partner permission to be filmed.
  3. Recording devices can not get in the way of the class. Keep them on the side of the mat.
  4. Recording cannot be a distraction or take away from the flow of the class.
  5. Parents/guardians can record their children during class, but are not allowed to share images or video of other people’s children on social media.

Attire

  • A shirt or top must be worn at all times. A sports bra worn on its own is not permitted anywhere in the gym.
  • Contact classes (Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA): Shirts must fully cover the midriff. No exposed midriff during contact training.
  • Non-contact settings (Fitness Kickboxing and the weight room): cropped shirts are allowed and an exposed midriff is fine — but a sports bra alone is still not permitted.

Sauna

  • The sauna is a shared, co-ed space for members 16 and older.
  • Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times (no nudity and no changing inside).
  • Use it at your own risk: Skip it if you’re pregnant or have a medical condition without a doctor’s approval.
  • Never use it under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or while dehydrated.
  • Limit your session to about 15 minutes, and step out immediately if you feel dizzy or unwell.
  • Keep it clean by sitting on a towel and wipe up any sweat spots.
  • Keep it comfortable for everyone – no filming of any kind, no food, and no pouring anything on the heater.
