Marcelo Nunes Gets First Round Submission Win at KOTC
BJJ Black Belt instructor at The Cellar and professional MMA fighter, Marcelo Nunes picked up another win in the MMA cage Saturday night at King Of The Cage in Walker, MN. Marcelo took on the tough veteran Vic Hall from Iowan in a bout scheduled for three rounds.
Marcelo came out strong at the opening bell showcasing his ever improving striking skills. He threw solid punch combinations that backed Hall up to the fence and Marcelo landed two huge leg kicks that turned his opponent sideways. Marcelo looked comfortable to stay at range and play the kicking game against Hall, but at one point his kick was caught and as he fought for balance he was able to transition to Hall’s back. The two battled for position while standing, but Marcelo was able to take Hall’s back with hooks in and went for the finish. Hall attempted to escape by somersaulting forwards, but as soon as he hit the ground the choke set in and was forced to tap due to RNC.
Marcelo got the win in just :46 seconds of the very first round. With this win he improves to 4-0 as a professional and is a rising prospect in the Middleweight division.
