The Cellar Fight Team was back in action Saturday night at Driller Promotion’s Caged Chaos 5 event at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. The Cellar’s Pam “Bam” Sorenson and Kevin “Concrete” Asplund were both in action.

Pam Sorenson (2-0-1) was first up for The Cellar taking on Christina Jobe (4-3) in a Women’s Bantamweight (135lb) bout. The two exchanged a few strikes and Jobe quickly attempted to push Sorenson to the cage and get a takedown, but Sorenson defended, went for a guillotine choke and pulled guard. Christina Jobe tapped to the submission at :46 into the very first round.

A few fights later, Kevin Asplund took on Matt Larson in a battle of heavyweights in a very exciting fight for the fans in attendance. Both fighters went back-and-forth trading bombs, but Larson took the most damaging shots and often turned away to avoid contact. Asplund was able to avoid the takedown and keep his distance and patience, even in the fast pace fight and when Larson dropped to the ground he went for a fight ending RNC submission to get the first round win.

Congratulations to both Cellar fighters and a huge thank you to all our members and supporters who battled the icy roads to come cheer on our team!
